Gallery forest

Jungle that stays green throughout the year (trees do not lose their leaves during the dry season) that accompanies the rivers and streams of the Central-West region of Brazil, with the tops of trees meeting over the course of water.

They present trees with heights between 20 and 30 meters. This physiognomy is commonly associated with hydromorphic soils, with excess humidity for most of the year due to the surface water table and large amount of organic material accumulated, causing the decomposition that confers the characteristic black color of these soils (Cerrado type).
