Roberto Cárdenas Merín

Roberto Cárdenas Merín was a politician from Colima member of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional. He was born on June 22, 1923 and died on September 1, 2011.

He was a normalist teacher so he taught for 33 years. He was the promoter of the creation of the Faculty of Law of the University of Colima and graduate of the first generation of this. He was Secretary of Youth Action of the PRI in Colima, from 1947 to 1956. He was then Secretary of Press and Propaganda, directing the local newspaper El Regional. He was president of the PRI in Colima state. He was a magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice of the State of Colima and the Tibunal Electoral of the State of Colima. He was a founding member and the first president of the Association Colimense de Periodistas y Escritores (ACPE).
