Paleodicotiledonize them


Paleodicotiledóneas or palaeodicots (from English palaeodicots) are sometimes used informally as a name (Spichiger and Savolainen 1997, Leitch et al. 1998) to refer to non-eudyotyledonic dicotyledons. Within the angiosperms, the APG II system recognizes two major clades: the monocots and the eudicots (or tricolpates), and leaving out these two main groups is a paraphyletic remnant basal group.

It might be conceivable that one day it would be decided to treat the paleodicotiledons as a taxon in classification systems that take account of paraphyletic groups (not the case of the APG). Group components orden Chloranthales clado Magnoliidae
