Annales Vedastini

The Annales Vedastini or Annals of St. Vaast are a series of medieval chronicles written in the early 10th century in the Abbey of St. Vaast in Arras. They are an important historical source of events in the ninth century. Between the years 874 and 900 there was a strong polarization of affairs between Lotaringia and Western France. Like the Annales Fuldenses and Annales Bertiniani, the Annales Vedastini were combined with other Reichsannalen in a compendium called Chronicon Vedastinum, a generic chronicle on the history of the Empire Carolingian up to 899.
