The Greens of Austria

The Greens of Austria (DGÖ) were a neo-Nazi party in Austria. It was founded by the former NDP-functionary Alfred Bayer in 1982 and ran for elections in state elections in Austria. The Greens of Austria were founded by Alfred Bayer in 1982 to use the green movement at the time for the purpose of the NDP. The otherwise insignificant organization managed to achieve modest success in elections. For example, the DGÖ won several seats in the municipal elections in Leoben, Kapfenberg and Villach in 1985, and took part in the regional elections in Tyrol in 1984, the Landtag election in Salzburg in 1984, the Landtag election in Upper Austria in 1985 and the state election in Styria in 1986 to the detriment of the parallel parties Green Alternative and United Green Austria.

In 1988, the Constitutional Court prohibited the DGÖ's candidacy in the ÖH elections because of neo-Nazism. Edit source text
