Orogenia apalache

Sequence of orogeny Appalachian orogeny or alleghenia was a mountain-building event that affected the Appalachian geosyncline at the end of the Permian period. Appalachian orogeny is most pronounced in the center and south of the Appalachian Mountains and produces different effects in several subregions such as the compressive folding of the geological fault of the Valley and Appalachian Mountains, towards the west the thrust of the Cordillera Blue and the slight folding metamorphism and igneous intrusion of Piedmont. It may have originated from the center-south clash of the Appalachian continental margin with that of North Africa during the Permian period.
