EDIWHEEL
The EDIWHEEL standard (wheel = "wheel") has been developed as an industry standard for the tire trade. In a co-operation between traders, software manufacturers and the tire industry, the specific requirements for the processes were analyzed from the inventory query to the purchase order to the accounting based on the EANCOM subsystem and documented in EDI processes. EDIWHEEL includes, in addition to the classic asynchronous EDI processes on EDIFACT basis, synchronous system-to-system processes, which can be handled over various communication paths up to XML via HTTP. The EDIWHEEL standard is used in the tire industry for business processes between the tire trade and the industry. The standard is supported by many tire manufacturers. A prerequisite for tire trading is one of the numerous merchandise management software that supports the standard. Edit DevelopmentQtext
The work on the standard was started in a working group for the first time in 1999 on the initiative of the BRV (Federal Association of Vulcanization Companies) and the wdk (German Rubber Industry Association). Weblinks Edit sourcetext
