Kakku is a pagoda field in Taunggyi, Myanmar in southern Shan state. On an area of 306 m width and 150 m length, there are over 2,000 pagodas. Until the year 2001 a visit of Kakku for foreigners was forbidden. Initially open only to travel groups, the "magical place of the Pa-O" (People's group in Myanmar) is now also open to single travelers. According to legend, the first pagodas are said to be 300% To be built. The Central Stupa (Asokar Stupa) probably dates from the 16th century. Single-level Edit source text
