Anta do Patalim

The Anta do Patalim (also known as Anta 2 do Patalim) is a megalithic site, to the west of the motorway exit no. 5 (Arraiolos / Escoural) of the A5 motorway (Lisbon - Évora) towards Montemor between the EN114 and the A5, directly on the A5 in the Évora district of the Alentejo in Portugal. Anta or Dolmen is the Portuguese name for about 5,000 megalithic sites erected by the descendants of Cardial or Impressoculture during the Neolithic in the west of the Iberian Peninsula

Of the great Anta, which is under cork oak, all seven supporting stones are still preserved, while the top stone and remains of the Ganges are missing. The chamber diameter is 3.20 m. Edit source text Edit source text Weblinks Edit sourcetext
