From 18 July to 4 August 1979 the then deputy Foreign Minister Lima was abducted by Fuerzas Armadas Rebeldes (FAR). The FAR sent a message to the US Ambassador Frank V. Ortiz Jr. and demanded the release of two members of FAR.
He was released after the government released a statement from the guerrilla.
The Chilean Foreign Office owns a Lima photo bearing a stamp imprint 18SET in 1979. In the Putschregime of Efraín Ríos Montt became Alonso foreign minister. Single-level Edit source text
