The Faculty of Economics and Administration at the University of Concepcion is one of the 16 faculties of the Universidad de Concepción, in Chile. It was created on January 28, 1957 during the rectory of David Stitchkin. It dictates the careers of commercial engineering and Audit and is located immediately behind the Central Library, next to the street Victor Lamas.

History

The University Council approved the creation of the School of Commercial Engineering as a subsidiary of the university's former law school. He then started with 65 students in April 1957, at O'Higgins Street No. 850, until the 1960 earthquake destroyed the house he kept running. Several dependencies happened until 1960, where the Board of the university approved the change of name to School of Economics and Administration. As early as 1961, the first Commercial Engineers graduated.

In January 1969, the School of Economics and Administration was transferred to the University City, to the current building of the Department of Systems Engineering. In 1981, another internal transfer to the building that occupied the area of ​​Social Sciences took place. In addition, the Daytime Audit Career, Diploma, Master's, Technical Assistance and training courses were created.

Finally, in August 1995, the expansion of the faculty was approved, beginning in June of 1997 the works. The delivery takes place the following year 1998: a building with the surface of 1260 m2 more.
