Rick Latham
Rick Latham (born October 1, 1955 in Columbia, South Carolina) is an American radio drummer. With his textbook "Advanced Funk Studies" (1980) he aroused international interest and became famous.
Latham has studied percussion at East Carolina University. Subsequently, he was admitted to the Master's program at North Texas State University in, where he held a teaching position as an assistant. From 1996 to 2002 the composer and producer played in the band "Rainey Man". In 1999, he performed with the "Edgar Winter Band" at the Montreux Jazz Festival. His current jazz group is called "Rick Latham and the groove doctors". In the course of his career he has worked with numerous artists from the radio, rock, R & B, pop, country and jazz fields, including B. B. King and Quincy Jones.
