Lordship of Armuña


The Lordship of Armuña was a Spanish dominion of the Kingdom of Granada formed by the municipalities of Armuña de Almanzora, Sierro, Lúcar and Suflí, reason why its owners were titled "Lords of Armuña, Lúcar, Sierro and Suflí". This lordship was granted in the fifteenth century to M. de Aguilar but a minor branch of the House of Aguilar passed when the sixth lord of Aguilar founded on him a mayorazgo, in favor of his secondborn Francisco Fernandez de Córdoba, brother of the I In 1624 he was awarded the Marquisate of Armuña to Diego Fernández de Córdoba, passing the mayorazgo in the eighteenth century to the Marquis of Ariza.
