Américo Cruz y Fernández


Américo Cruz y Fernández (* 1908; † 1999) war ein kubanischer Diplomat.

Cruz became 1930 Secretary of the Third Class. In 1936 he moved from Columbia to Tokyo. In 1940 he was Secretary of the Second Class in Rome. In 1944 he was employed by the Immigration Department in the department 'Negociado de Cartas de Ciudadanía'. From 1944 to 1947 he was a business owner in Tegucigalpa. In 1947 he headed the migration authority.

From 14 November 1952 to 1953 he was a business owner in Ottawa. From 22 April to October 1960 he was ambassador to Buenos Aires. The government of Arturo Frondizi found in his suitcase letters from followers of Juan Perón and expelled him. From 16 June 1964 to 21 June 1968 he was ambassador to Ottawa.

From 21 June 1968 to January 1978, he was an ambassador to Berne. Single-level Edit source text
