Satyanand Saraswati (Kerala)


Satyanand Saraswati was a Hindu spiritual leader, intense speaker, historian and religious scholar of India and he founded the Ram Ras Das Mission.

Satyananda Saraswati (September 22, 1935 - 23 November 2006) The Hindu spiritual leader of India was the great speaker, historian and religious scholar. He established the Hindu Unity altar and remained the chairman of the lifetime. He also established Shri Ram Das Mission. Swami Satyanand was born on 25 September 1933 in Andurkonam village of Thiruvananthapuram. His name was first Shekharan Pillai. By completing education, he started teaching at Madhav Vilasam High School. In 1964, he came in contact with Ramdas Ashram and remained with him again. Later, he took retirement, and his name was Swami Satyanand Saraswati.

As per the president of the organization 'Hindu Aukya Varta' in Kerala, Swamiji continued his work of Jagar Jagaran with his intense speeches. After 1970, his role in connecting various Hindu organizations in the state was very important. He was also the founder and editor of a daily letter called 'Punyabhaam'. Master of Ayurveda and Siddha Yoga, Swami had made a healthy drink called 'Herbal Cola', which became very popular.

Swami ji was the Chairperson of Sri Ramdas Ashram Chengottkokanam (Thiruvananthapuram) and a member of the Board of Directors constituted by Vishva Hindu Parishad. He established many Ramdas Ashrams in the country abroad. He added a large number of Hindu families from 'Young Man's Hindu Association' and 'Maithili Mandalam'. He started the Ramnavmi fair that took place every year in the capital of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram.

Swamiji was very active even in the movement for construction of the temple on the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya. That's why whenever a caravan or any other call came, a large number of young people from Kerala went to Ayodhya.

Swamiji, who gave his untimely service to the Hindu society for 73 years, died on November 24, 2006.
