Eurístenes


In Greek mythology, Eurystenes (in Greek, Εὐρυσθένης) was one of the Heráclidas, chozno of Heracles and son of Aristodemo and Argía. Next to his twin Procles, he received the territory of Lacedemonia after Cresfontes, Temém and Óxilo took the Peloponnese. Eurystenes was the mythical founder of the Agile dynasty of the kings of Sparta and the father of his successor: Agis I.

Eurystenes was also the name of one of the sons of Egypt. He was murdered by his wife: Monuste, one of the Danaides.
