Church of Sant Pere (Osséja)

The church of Sant Pere de Osseja is located in the town of Osséja in the region of Haute Cerdanya, belonging to France. History

The parish is documented in the act of consecration of the Seo de Urgel of the late tenth century. The bishop of Urgel, Guisard, in 947 for donation of the parish to the monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes. Now depending on the monastery of Santa Maria de Lillet, from the end of the twelfth century until the end of the nineteenth century. In the document of his consecration by the bishop Pere de Puigvert, on November 2, 1219, a perpetual donation is made to the church of Pobla de Lillet. Building

Of the Romanesque building is only the apse made with granite ashlar and calcareous stone, on the first rows of the base there is one with a large granite blocks alternating with other thinner rows until reaching the level of the window centered in the middle of the drum with two archivolts, one sustained with columns of capital ornamented very schematically.
