Ashé (Àşe, Aché, Axé) is the universal life energy in the Yoruba religion, which in the cosmos of the Yoruba works in the invisible region (runrun) and visible region (aye). It is not only in all creatures and objects, but also in all intangible spiritual beings (orishas and ancestors) and artefacts (prayers, songs, gestures).

It takes off in the course of time despite a "good character" (ìwa pèlé) and has to be charged by religious rituals (also animal sacrifice). Weblinks Edit sourcetext Edit FootnotesQuote text
