Thunder Run

The Thunder Run in Kentucky Kingdom (Louisville, Kentucky, USA) is a wooden railway built by Dinn Corporation, which opened in August 1990. In 2009, the railway, as well as the entire park, was closed. The new owner opened the park in May 2014 and thus also the train.

The 869-meter-long track, originally designed for a roller coaster for LeSourdsville Lake Amusement Park (then Americana Park) in Ohio, reaches a height of 27 m. The trains, which reach a maximum speed of 85 km / h, have six wagons each accommodating four people (two rows of two people).

The train will be renovated for winter season 2016/17 for about 800.000 $ (approx. 759.500 Euro). The high-build main curve and the braking range are important components of the repair. In addition, the train will receive new trains from Philadelphia to Toboggan Coasters Inc. The conversion will start in mid-January 2017 and will take seven to eight weeks. Weblinks Edit sourcetext
