Georgina Masson


Albert Goedeckemeyer (born February 2, 1873 in Springe, near Hanover, Germany, August 7, 1945 in Potsdam) was a German philosophy professor.

Goedeckemeyer studied in Lausanne, Berlin, Tübingen and Strasbourg after graduating from high school and became a doctor in Strasbourg in 1897 phil. PhD. In 1900, he qualified as a professor at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. In 1906 he was appointed an unofficial extraordinary professor. From 1908 to 1938, Goedeckemeyer taught as a professor of philosophy at the University of Koenigsberg (Kant Chair). During the Weimar Republic he was a member of the liberal German state party. After his retirement in 1938, Goedeckemeyer moved to Potsdam.

As a philosopher historian, he devoted himself to ancient philosophy, especially Plato, Aristotle, and Kant. In 1924, he edited the memorandum of the Albertus University of Königsberg.
