Féloe

Féloe (in Greek, Φελλόα) is the name of an ancient Greek city of Achaia.

Pausanias places it at forty stadiums in Egira. He says it was an ancient city, from the days of the Ionians, though not very famous. It emphasizes how to cultivate its vines and indicates that in the stony part of its territory the oaks were abundant and the hunting of deer and wild boar was practiced. He had plenty of water. It had as its buildings sanctuaries of Dionysus and Artemis with statues of both: Artemis was bronze and represented the goddess taking an arrow from the quiver while Dionysus was adorned with cinnabar.
