CodeWeavers

CodeWeavers is a developer of a modified version of wine called CrossOver, to run Windows applications on Mac OS X, GNU / Linux and Solaris. The company was founded in 1996 as a consultancy, finally completely displaced to Wine Development and Support. CrossOver is regularly updated with the latest free wine patches; Also, the patches made by the company employees are sent to the original project immediately. This differentiates the company from TransGaming, which distributes a derivative version of Wine called Cedega, and does not return contributions freely to Wine. CodeWeavers is the largest contributor to the Wine project, a free software project that helps Windows applications run on different operating systems under the x86 architecture, and employs project maintainer Alexandre Julliard as its CTO. >
