The apprentice is the first single from the live album I take off the hat of the Mexican singer Samo. It was released as an official single on March 17, 2015.

The song was recorded live on November 16, 2014, a duet with Puerto Rican singer Pedro Capó, at the concert given at the Teatro Juárez in Guanajuato.
