Cyrus Sahukar (born August 6, 1980) is a MTV India VJ and Bollywood actor. They are known for their perceptive accent in Cimmerbear and similar satire comedy shows, in the host and in the fun copy.
early life
Cyrus Sahukar was born in MHOW, Indore's military headquarters. His father, Colonel Behram Sahukar, is a Parsi, while his writer Maa, Nimran Sahukar is Punjabi, from which he is half of Parsi and half of Punjabi descent. There is also an elder sister named Preeti Phillip who is an artist. They grew up in Delhi and got schooling from St. Columbus.
Cyrus started the theater from the school and at the age of 6, he acted in different plays of the school. He used to sing in the band of his school and till 14, he had become part of Kiran Bedi's 'Literacy Mission Program' in which the students of the school performed drama and educational skits for the prisoners of Tihar Jail. During this period, he acted in a drama which was part of Barry John's Red Dogs Club. This play was directed by Barry John and its name was 'Aaron and the Sea of Stories' and it was based on the novel by Salman Rushdie.
At the age of 15, he performed a musical show called 'Thank You for the Music', which was directed by Stephen Marazzi, his first professional effort as a singer. After that they joined Roshan Abbas and started doing radio voiceover and jingle. Her first jingle was for Harpik.
By the age of 16, he was hosting a radio show 'Radio Rampage' in Delhi. At about the same time, he acted and starred on the production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Starlight Express' and 'Graffiti Postcards from School', both of which were directed by Roshan Abbas.
At the age of 18, he auditioned in MTV India's 'MTV VJ Hunt' nationwide search. He won this VJ Hunt with Mini Mathur and Asif Seth. Travel by MTV
They joined MTV at the end of 1999 and moved from Delhi to Mumbai and they were one of the youngest people to work on MTV.
In the following year, in 2000, he led a show called 'MTV Fully Faltoo.' This was the first such show to be made, in which all the fun was copied from films, commercials to TV shows, including promos - Sholay, Kaho Naa Pyaar and Indiana Jones series. At about the same time, he started a funny copying on Navjot Singh Sidhu, whose name was 'Pidhu the Great' and also hosted a show called 'Semi Giraabal', which was a comic copy of 'TalkeVevil with Simi Garewal', a talk show. The spoof, Semi Girebal, gets more ratings than the original show. When MTV made a strong entry into the field of mokumantry, he acted as a facilitator in a show called 'Kick Ace', in which he played 25 different roles.
