Edit HistoryQual

The origins of this old Tyrolean family can be found in the Ultental valley at the Tschueggsee (today Zoggler-Stausee). Tschugguel means oak at the Tschueggsee and indicates an old legend of a 1000-year-old oak tree. Already in the 13th century members of this family settled in Kaltern and Tramin. In 1530, Leonhard Chuegguel, mayor of Tramin, was given a coat of arms by Archduke Ferdinand.

On May 23, 1705 Leonhard Tschugguel, Knight Edler of Tschuegg of Pichelheimb, Graunburg and Mayenfeldt was granted the Freiherrenstand. He was married to Anna, a born Frein of Priami.

At the end of the 19th century Hofrat Albert Freiherr von Tschugguel deputy k. u. k. Postmaster in Vienna. Edit PersonalQtext Edit source text Single-level Edit source text
