MultiEx Commander

MultiEx Commander is a game resource manager for Windows released by the Xentax Foundation. Some of the features include an interpreted programming language called MexScript (BMS), an extractor and file importer, and an EasyMod mod maker. The first versions of the program were written in Borland Turbo C between 1998 and 1999 and a user interface for the DOS command line for the MultiEx archive program, which was written by Mike Zuurman in Visual Basic. was created in 1997. The first version of MultiEx was built around MexScript, a script written specifically to enable programmers to process (game) files by simply typing a few how many lines of codigo. All low level events would be held by the main program.

In addition, MultiEx Commander can create game mods via the EasyMod creator. Changes made to game files (such as sounds or textures) are stored as a single file, enabling users to distribute their mods without needing MultiEx Commander.
