Maharaja Jaswant Singh (26 December 1629 - 28 December 1678) was the ruler of Marwar. He was Rathore Rajput. He was a good writer who composed texts titled 'Siddhant-Bodh', 'Anandvilas' and 'Bhasha Bhushan'.
introduction
There were three sons of Maharaj Gaj Singh of Jodhpur- Amar Singh, Jaswant Singh and Achal Singh Achal Singh died in childhood. Amar Singh was very brave but very angry, therefore Gaj Singh thought of his younger son Jaswant Singh as a good fit for the throne. On 25th May 1638, Jaswant of twelve years sat on the throne.
Jaswant Singh remained in the royal army since the beginning of the state. In 1642, he traveled with Iran to the royal army. A year later he returned back. In 1648, Shah Abbas of Iran surrounded Kandahar with 50,000 troops and artillery. After some time the fort came in hand. Shahjade, who used to encircle the fort on the Jaswant Singh fort, was involved in Aurangzeb's army. Aurangzeb was unable to take fort. Meanwhile, Jaswant Singh's manasav grew many times and in 1655 he got the title of Maharaja.
In 1657 Emperor Shah Jahan fell ill and his sons started a war for the state. Dara, telling the king, gave 7,000 seats and 7,000 riders of Jaswant Singh, and sent him a lakh rupees and Subhadra of Malwa against Aurangzeb. The other royal army received him from the command of the army of Qasimkhana. Meanwhile, Aurangzeb turned Shahjada Murad on his side. In place of the name 'Dharmat', both the armies faced. Kota's Rao Mukundsingh, his three brothers, Shahpura's Sujan Singh Sisodiya, Arjun Gauda, Dayaladas Ghali, Mohansingh Hada etc. many kings and peers were accompanying him. The hero of Haraval was Qasimakhan and Jaswant Singh himself was in the center between 2,000 Rajputs. Many of them, Rajput Sardar, came to work in the initial attack. Tunda's Raisingh, Bundela Sujansingh etc. escaped. Jaswant Singh reached with Aurangzeb fighting with residual Rajputs, but in the meantime he was badly injured. A definite conjecture of defeat in the war took Rajput Singh with him out of the war forcefully and he had to return to Jodhpur.
After Dharma, Aurangzeb defeated Dara in the battle of Samudhgarh and seized Shahjahan on 22 July 1658 and sat on Aurangzeb's throne. In the same year Jaswant Singh accepted Aurangzeb's submission, but with his heart he was against it. Thus, when the battle of Shah Shuja and Aurangzeb was fought in the whip, he returned to Jodhpur after a considerable loss of Aurangzeb's army. But Shah Shuju lost in war. Aurangzeb got very angry, even after falling in the middle of Mirza Raja Jaysingh and considering his interest in maintaining good relations with Jaswant Singh, Aurangzeb forgave the Maharaja.
In 1659 Jaswant Singh was appointed as the Subedar of Gujarat, but after some time, Aurangzeb appointed Mahavatakhan at that place. Seeing the growing power of Shivaji, Aurangzeb sent Shayastakan against him. He started living in Poona and stayed in the path of Jaswant Singh Singhgarh. The story of Shivaji's invasion is famous in the night at Shaista Khan. Jaswant Singh did not get any special success against Shivaji. The King called him back to Delhi and appointed the place laid in his place and Mirza Raja Jaysingh. But in 1678, again, his appointment took place in the South and with his industry there was a treaty for some time between the Mughals and the Mughals. In 1670, he was again appointed as the Subedar of Gujarat, and in 1673, when he received the decree, he left for Kabul. He died on 28 November 1738 in Jumurad.
Maharaja Jaswant Singh Veer was also not charitable and scholarly. In his compositions, Bhavishabhushan, Apariksh Siddhant, Experience Prakash, Anandvilas, Gnanbodh, Kisan Sadar and Prabodh Chandrodayad are famous. Surumshahr, Narharidas and the newcomer were the gems of his gathering. Jaswant Singh's heart was full of Hindutva's love and his gentlemen and inanition helped the Hindu kings to get adequate help. Aurangzeb was not even disturbed by this. It is famous that on his death the emperor had said, 'Today the door of Kufr has broken.' Jasvatsinh was honored in the heart of Hinduism and for this reason, when Aurangzeb tried to grab Jodhpur after his death and make Kumar a Muslim, then there was a dissent in Rajasthan and the Rajput war started.
