José Manuel Romero-Salazar (Madrid, 1964) is a Spanish journalist, deputy director of the newspaper El País.
He holds a degree in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid and has developed his journalistic activity in several radio stations until he ran a parliamentary program at Telemadrid. After directing the Local section of the newspaper EL SOL, in 1993 he joined the newspaper El País and was named deputy director of the newspaper in October 2007 on the occasion of the new stage of the newspaper. It was Ortega y Gasset's prize for journalism in 2010.
