Valaisianos

Eunuchs or Valesians are ancient sect of heretics whose origin and errors are little known. St. Epiphanius who mentions them in heresy 58, says that they were in Palestine, in the territory of the city of Philadelphia, on the other side of the Jordan.

They carried some of the views of the Gnostics; but they also had different ones. What is known is that all were eunuchs and did not want another class of men in their congregation. If they received some, they forbade the use of meat until they were mutilated. Then they allowed them all kinds of delicacies, because from that point on they were exempt from the disorderly movements of the flesh. It has also been thought that they sometimes mutilated foreigners passing through their country, but this fact is not very probable: the local people would have been armed in that case against them and they would have exterminated them.

As St. Epiphanius put this heresy among those of the Noecians and Novacians, it is presumed to exist by the 240s; but could not propagate much, nor to exist long time.
