Ignis Brunensis Macedos Pyrotechnics 2007

Ignis Brunensis is an international fireworks competition held annually between May and June in the Czech city of Brno, Moravia. The name of the pyrotechnic contest derives from the Latin and means "The Fire of Brno". Programming

The activities of the competition involve the entire city of Brno. As an opening ceremony fireworks are launched outside competition from the city center. The rest of the competitive presentations are made on the outskirts of the city, in the vicinity of the Brno Dam, in order to increase the light effect with the reflection of the water and do not produce noise pollution in the residential area during those days. Each participating group must make an artistic presentation that mixes visual and musical effects within the same show. The organizers estimate on average between 100 thousand and 200 thousand visitors per year to the event.

At the closing ceremony pyrotechnic games are launched from the center of the city as well as at the opening. Museums, cultural centers, castles and other institutions also participate in the event with their own special programs for the occasion.
