Andreas Brecke


Andreas Bangbrecke (born September 14, 1879 in Fredrikstad, Østfold, Norway, June 13, 1952) was a Norwegian sailor and Olympic participant of the Olympic Summer Games of Stockholm and Antwerp.

Brecke was in 1912 with the Norwegian boat Taifun Olympiasieger in the 8-meter class. The crew of the boat consisted of Brecke, Thoralf Glad, Thomas Aas, Thorleiv Corneliussen, and Christian Jebe. In this competition there were seven boats, two from Finland, two Russian and two Swedish, one from Norway. Taifun won 1912 both runs on July 20 and 22 on the coast off Nynäshamn.

Eight years later, he became the second Olympic Olympian in sailing. This time he won with the boat Jo in the 6-meter class. Weblinks Edit sourcetext
