The Rowing Club La Maruca is a Cantabrian sports club that was founded in 1975 under the name of "Cultural and Recreation Society Friends of La Maruca". Usually it contests regattas in all categories and modalities of fixed bank, mainly in bateles and trainerillas and possibly also in traineras. History

The Rowing Club La Maruca was founded in 1975, but it was not until May 6, 1976 when the Nueva Montaña basin disputed its first official race. In 1977 he organized his first official regatta, the second regatta of the group of Cantabria boats.

In 1992 they inaugurated the Rowing School of La Maruca and established a stable social headquarters. In 1994 the club organized for the first time to see the Virgen del Mar Crossing.

In 1998 they debut in a regatta of trawlers in the bay of Castro Urdiales, on February 8, achieving four quarters in the Banderas de Castro-Urdiales and Suances. During that season and the next they compete the regattas of the region and in the year 2000 they merge with the Club of Rowing City of Santander contributing together two trawlers to the city of Santander, obtains great results like the victory in XXIV Flag Sotileza, the XVII Flag Bansander, the III Caja Cantabria Flag, the XIII Flag of Erandio, the XXIII Villa Flag of Bilbao, the II Flag the Maruca and especially the XXXI Flag of Santander.

The year 2001 and 2002 maintains that fusion and obtain several important flags like the XXV Sotileza Flag, the III and IV Bandera la Maruca, the XXXI G.P.Ayunt. Shipyard, the XXXII Flag of Santoña, the XIX Prince Trophy of Asturias and again the Flag of Santander (XXXII edition).

Once this union ended, they have continued to provide rowers to the Club de Remo Ciudad de Santander, but in 2008 they once again take out their own trawler for the ARC League along with some rowers handed over by the Removals Association.
