Henry Cotton (born 18 May 1876 in Norfolk, Virginia, 8 May 1933) was an American psychiatrist and head of a famous psychiatric clinic in Trenton, New Jersey. Cotton was the advocate of a controversial theory: he believed that the cause of almost every psychiatric disorder was a local infection (teeth, tonsils, gastrointestinal tract). Through partial very radical operations, Cotton tried to help his patients.
