Vishnu Krishna Chiplunkar


   

Vishnu Krishna Chiplunkar (1850-1882) was the epitome of literary writers and editors of modern Marathi prose.

Shri Vishnu Shastri Chiplunkar was born in a wise family of Poona. His father, Shri Krishna Shastri, was famous for his natural intelligence, rasikita, poetic poetry, his unique style of translation, etc., as a well-known litterateur. He studied Sanskrit, English and ancient Marathi and studied BA. Received formal education. Later, he became a teacher in Government High School, but his pride, autobiography, homeland and self-respect were awakened by the propagation of Christian Missions against Indian culture. They also grieved on the indolence of the newly educated people. Hence, he started publication of the monthly magazine "Nindamalala" in terms of public awareness and public education. Their writings were immensely respectable, self respecting, self-centered and self-centered towards love. The essence and theme of their essays are excellent, in the same way, they are also delightful in terms of originality, effective style of rendering and artistic development. He came in Poona and said, G. Agarkar and Shri Bal Gangadhar Tilak started publishing two newspapers "Kesari" in Marathi and "Maratha" in English from 1 January 1881. In the same way, in order to awaken patriotism in the new generation, he established a new school called New English School. Lokpal Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Mr. Agarkar got big help from Chiplunkar. In the short life of 32 years, he had untimely death of the era of revolutionary literary service. These are called "Shivaji" of Marathi language.
