Herbert Lawrence Block


Herbert Lawrence Block (pseudonym Herblock) (born October 13, 1909 in Chicago, † October 7, 2001 in Washington, DC) was an American political cartoonist who worked for the Washington Post for over 50 years. The three-volume Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning has been a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences since 1959. He received the Freedom Medal ("The Presidential Medal of Freedom") on August 8, 1994.
