André van Geldorp
André van Geldorp is a Dutch guitarist born on January 20, 1941 in The Hague, who spent part of his career associated with singer Mariska Veres in the famous musical band Shocking Blue.
His first achievement as a trajectory was the single "4500 Times" with the rock group Quotation, where he was a guitarist since the group's founding. This song was a cover of the British group Status Quo. Geldorp came to share through this process, in 1981 the stage with Status Quo, with guitarist Rick Parfitt. He performed on Zevenaar, when Parfitt spontaneously climbed onto the stage to play two songs: "Big Fat Mama" and "Do not Waste My Time" (sung by Andre).
He also has his years in his own band Lost Gravity. With this band was on the compilation album "The Heavy Touch" (with other Dutch rock bands) with the songs "Come Back" and "Your Dirty Lies". This last song also was abroad and was recognized in America of the album released - "Best of Europe", an album with several European rock bands. This was released on the label "New Renaissance Records" in the mid-eighties.
The most prominent, however, were his bands alongside Mariska Veres in Shocking Blue, Veres who died on December 2, 2006, after a brief illness. In addition to his guitarist Van Geldorp was almost 20 years of his life as a couple. The already mentioned title "Come Back" changed to "Strange Ways" and also "Your Dirty Lies" entered the repertoire of the group of rock of Veres.
With Shocking Blue Van Geldorp recorded two songs: "Body and Soul" and "Angel", both produced by former blues guitarist Robbie van Leeuwen at the Bullet Sound Studio in Nederhorst den Berg, Netherlands. >
