Enjoy (woreda)


Godere is one of the 8 woredas or districts of the Gambala Region in Ethiopia. It is the only woreda of Administrative Zone 4, which is why it is considered a special woreda. It limits to the south with the Region of the Peoples of the South, to the west with the Administrative Zone 2 of the Region Gambela, and to the north with the Region Oromia. The land in Godere is predominantly mountainous, unlike the rest of the Gambala Region, it has elevations ranging from 550 masl to 1,260 meters. According to the Ethiopian Rural Economy Atlas, published by the Central Ethiopian Statistical Agency, 40% of the woreda terriotrium is covered with forests. The eastern sector of the woreda is occupied by Gambela National Park.

According to information provided in 2005 by the Statistics Agency, this woreda has an estimated population of 43,090 inhabitants, of which 23,296 were men and 19,794 women. 12.6% of its population, corresponding to 5,441 people, live in the only urban area of ​​woreda, the town of Meti.

It has an area of ​​1,939 square kilometers, and an estimated density of 22.22 inhabitants per square kilometer. The predominant ethnic group in the woreda is the Majangir.
