The Hills

The Municipal Natural Park Els Cerros, with an area of 255.92 ha, is located in the municipality of Llombay in the province of Valencia.

The landscape value of Els Cerros is especially noteworthy in the area of the municipal area of Llombay, since it is a wooded area nestled in a crop area and surrounded by the river Magro.

Within its outstanding natural values is the Cueva de les Meravelles, which is one of the ten most important caves in the Valencian Community, as a refuge for diverse and interesting populations of bats. It is worth noting the presence of the cave bat and the Mediterranean horseshoe bat, which are the first and second in importance of the Valencian Community, with the additional value that only 11 other populations in the Community are known from the second. Also noteworthy are the populations of the bigeye bat and the horseshoe bat, species listed in the Spanish Red List as endangered.

The vegetation has a good state of conservation, since it is a mountain that, fortunately, has been preserved from forest fires in recent times, so it has a fairly homogeneous adult pine forest cover. / p>

In addition to the Cave of the Meravelles, in the enclave are three more cavities of interest; it is a gulf and two coats that are in the area called the Tailaia. It is also worth noting the important archaeological heritage that it houses and which is centered in the discovered deposits in the Tailaia and in the Cave of the Meravelles.
