PVARP is an acronym for "Post Ventricular Atrial Refractory Period" or ventricular refractory period. This is a parameter that plays a role in the pacemaker pacing of DDD pacemakers. It describes the time interval after ventricular stimulation or sensing in which the atrial electrode channel does not respond to detected signals. This is important in order to prevent the pacemaker from stimulating itself and to allow for the possibly still existing rhythm (eg intermittent ventricular disorders) of the heart. The PVARP value is between 100 and 300 ms and is set individually for each patient. Edit source text
