Pont l'Eveque


The pont-l'évêque is a French cheese made in Normandy, it benefits from an A.O.C. since 1976. It was included by France among the PDO cheeses of Regulation (EC) No 1107/96. It owes its name to the town of Pont-l'Évêque (Calvados) where it has been made and famous for centuries. characteristics

It is a cheese based on cow's milk, it is presented in square form with a creamy paste with washed crust of beige or orange color. Its average weight is 420 grams.

Its optimum period of tasting extends from May to September after a maturation of 4 to 6 weeks, but is equally good from April to November.

Production: 3 612 tonnes in 1998 (+ 3.17% since 1996).
