Google Developer Groups (GDG) is a global community interested in learning, using and promoting Google's multiple application technologies. It is focused on developers and educational content.

The Google Developers Group brings together the following areas of developers and experts in Google products: Mobile Developers: to build, promote, win, measure and improve mobile applications. Games Developers: Build games for websites and mobiles using technologies developed by Google. Web Developers: using HTML5 technologies and tools for Chrome developers, which build applications and web pages. Cloud Developers: to build, test, and deploy applications in Google's highly scalable and reliable infrastructure. Developers focused on Startups: Development of tools for the needs of the startup and integration with Google of Startups. Webmasters: SEO and analytics practices experts to make content displayed on Google relevant.

In addition, Google GDG brings together programmers, users and enthusiasts who use or want to use the different solutions to problems related to academic, community, social and business. It is driven by passionate people in the developer community and is a place to learn about Google Developer Platforms (APIs). The Google Developers Group hold monthly events under the indicated themes. Access to these events is free and is intended to share with all those interested in new technologies the content and good practices established by Google for its development.

The community was born with the name of Google Technology User Group (GTUG) for the development of platforms like Android, App Engine, Google Chrome, YouTube API, Google Plus among others.
