Tchicaya U Tam'si nacido Gerald-Felix Tchicaya (Mpili, 25 de agosto de 1931 - Bazancourt, cerca de París, 22 de abril de 1988) escritor congolés

He spent his childhood in Pointe-Noire, Republic of Congo and later went to study in France, where he later served as a journalist and returned to Congo in 1960. There he continued to practice as a journalist and maintained contact with politician Patrice Lumumba . In 1961, he began work for Unesco. As a writer, his poetry contains a great surrealism and vivid historical images and commentary on life in Africa and humanity in general.

Since 1989, the Tchicaya U Tam'si award has been awarded in the Moroccan town of Assilah. Work
