Rick McCosker


Richard Bede McCosker (born December 11, 1946, Inverell, New South Wales) is a former player of New South Wales and the Australian cricket player.

McCosker played in 25 tests and 14 One Day Internationals in a race from 1975 to 1982 playing as a right-handed hitter. He is well remembered for playing in the 1977 Centennial Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground after having his jaw broken by a Bob Willis bouncer in the 1st innings. In the second innings he hit number ten with bandages and his jaw locked by a rope, making 25, and 54 for the ninth suit in collaboration with Rod Marsh. Australia won the match for 45 races. He also played for the Cricket World Series team, and was a Wisden Cricket player of the Year in 1976.

He is represented by Aidan March in the Channel 9 Howzat series! War of Kerry Packer.
