Model building today

The model building today, short mbh, was a monthly magazine of the GST, which concerned with all facets of the model construction. The first edition was published in January 1970, the last edition in September 1993. The editor was the GDR military publishing house.

The purpose of the magazine was to publish monthly plans of ship, car and flight models in the form of detailed technical drawings and assembly tips. In addition to hobby-hobbyists and model builders, pupils' working groups and apprentices were also intended as addressees. Model building was seen as a useful leisure activity and preparation for the profession or military service.

The editorial part always included a report on GST model builders, events, as well as looking back on international competitions. Another topic was devoted to the topic of modeling electronics. Literature tips, tips and tricks for self-construction and dealing with miniature tools as well as sources for materials (for example, electronic components, adhesives and casting resins) supplemented the practice section. Exchange listings, advertisements and pictures of model builders were published on the last pages. Retrospective of model building today 3/88.
