Martynas Svegzda von Bekker was born in 1967 and started with the violin at age 5. Since the early 1990s, he has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras in Europe and Russia, such as the Berlin Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Hans Dieter Baum, the Georgia Philharmonic, the Hamburg Philharmonic, the Philharmonic of Lithuania and the Chamber Music Orchestra of Helsinki.
He is a full-time lecturer at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater. He is the artistic director of the Alternative Classical Music Festival in Vilnius.
