Arjuna asteroids belong to the class of near-Earth asteroids (NEAs), a group of near-Earth objects (NEOs).

Characteristic for asteroids of this class is their earth-like orbit with low inclination, low eccentricity and periodicity of approximately one earth year. Therefore, asteroids of this rare class can be reached from the Earth with relatively little effort (Delta v).

The fuzzy definition of the Arjuna type includes asteroids of the three established categories of Earth-Near Asteroids Apollo, Amor, and Aten

In contrast to the three other types, the Arjuna class was not named after an asteroid (cf. the asteroids named 1221 Amor, 1862 Apollo and 2062 Aten), but according to a figure of Hindu mythology: Arjuna, son of god god Indra and the Queen Kunti.
