Roberto Peña Dessens


Roberto Peña Dessens (Hermosillo, Sonora, 1951 - 1996) was a Sonoran muralist who stood out for three murals that are part of the historical heritage of the University of Sonora. His work

In 1983, he made his first mural of the University at the Escuela de Altos Estudios, currently the Faculty of Letters and Linguistics, with the landscape theme of the Mexican Northwest, which he titled Landscape of the Mexican Northwest. In 1984 he did his second work in the Department of Mathematics (now Postgraduate in Law) and is dedicated to the most outstanding mathematicians like Newton and Descartes and geometric elements. His third work left unfinished in the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, due to his death in December 1996, the main theme that managed to capture, in a little more than half of the work, is agricultural research and scientific development of Sonora in this field.
