Joscelin de Montoiron

Joscelin de Montoiron († 1190 before Akkon) was a vicar of Châtellerault and cruiser. His family background is unclear, occasionally he is associated with the house of Montoire.

For the first time in 1188, he was the vice-deputy of Châtellerault, from the right of his wife, the widow of the recently deceased Wilhelm. He was thus to be the guardian of his step-son Hugo III. officiated. Joscelin took part in the third crusade and reached the siege of Akkon in the autumn of 1189 with a preliminary command. During the siege he supported Bishop of Salisbury, Hubert Walter, in gathering food for the poorer and starving knights. In the course of the siege, he died in 1190.
