Indlandsis de la Antártida

Composite satellite image of the Antarctic continent. Antarctic surface temperature trends between 1981 and 2007, based on thermal infrared observations of a series of NOAA satellite sensors. The surface temperature does not necessarily reflect the air temperature.

The ice cover or Antarctic indlandsis is one of the two polar ice caps (or polar ice caps) of the Earth. It covers about 98% of the Antarctic continent and is the largest single mass of ice on Earth, with at least 14 million km² and contains 30 million km³ of ice.

Its age is 33.6 million years.
