EXOSAT

Exosat was a satellite of the European Space Agency launched on May 26, 1983 and was operative until April 1986. During that period 1780 observations were made in the X-ray band of most classes of astronomical objects, which included active galactic nuclei, stellar crowns, cataclysmic variable stars, white dwarfs, binary X-ray clusters and supernova remnants.

The equipment on board was three instruments that produced spectra, images and light curves in different energy bands.
